My pet snake-food disposal

This is Onyx, he is an Anery Corn Snake who I rescued from someone who just “lost interest” in their pet. He was 1/3 of the size he should have been for a two-&-a half-year-old snake.
He has since got out of his cage 3 times, only because EVERY TIME I WAS A DERP & LEFT HIS CAGE OPEN.
Thankfully every time he has left… he has never gone far… except for one of the times he was lost for a week. I was about to give up hope, when my Mom called me saying “the neighbor was complaining”, to her about “this strange looking snake” that refused to leave her backyard even if she hosed the snake down in attempts to scare it away. My Mom told her it’s “good luck to have a snake in your backyard” and that her daughter (Me) would come by and remove it for her.
SURE ENOUGH it was Onyx… ecstatic to see me, he immediately cuddled into my arms, I fed and put him to bed. Happy Ending to everything.
& that is the story of my Onyx baby-snake Daddy.
